Massage and other manual therapy

Hands on assessment is especially important in identifying compensatory issues arising from the original condition, surgery or injury. Treating, or preventing, these compensatory problems is a key role of physiotherapy.

I may also use specific passive range of motion and stretches to maintain or improve joint movement, improve flexibility of soft tissue, or help increase your dog’s awareness of his posture and movement (proprioception). Localised, taut bands in muscle (trigger points) may be treated manually.

I can also advise you on simple massage techniques to apply at home to relax and help your dog.
